Tricia Allen...

For 14 years her gallery was open to the public, and locals brought their visitors from the city to a place where they could buy a magnificent piece of hand-crafted glass and watch an internationally acclaimed artist at work.

In early 2006, Tricia was diagnosed with motor neurone disease and was unable to continue her work.

At the Tricia Allen Benefit Auction, held at the Yarra Sculpture Gallery in Abbottsford, friends and fellow glass artists gathered to raise money to support Tricia, and a single Klaus Moje piece sold for $6000.

Some pieces of Tricia’s glass art are displayed at the Tarrawarra Museum of Art in the Yarra Valley. In Melbourne, a large range of her work is permanently displayed at Garry McEwan Gallery, Southbank.

In 2011 the inaugural Tricia Allen prize, an open category for any nude in any art form, was awarded at the Nowa Nowa Nudes.

After being closed for six years, the Tricia Allen Gallery at Nungurner reopened, with husband Norm making beautiful glass works under the banner of TALLON – Tricia Allen Legacy Lives On.
